How We Work: In Conversation with Debbie Paulik Ford and Brittain Garrett

We warmly invite you to join Deb and Britt as they explore their work as psychotherapists, reflecting on the enduring mystery of what Sigmund Freud called ‘The Talking Cure’. It is interesting to sit back and reflect on this question of how we work.

We trained together, share supervision, and are close friends. Together, we ask: Do we each have a particular style or perspective? Do the skills we have gathered over time help our clients as they unravel? Do we work with transference and counter-transference? How pivotal are dreams? Our client’s dreams and our own. What about active imagination? How do we sit with not-knowing? And where might the soul come into it?

You are invited to pause, reflect and wonder with us about the therapeutic relationship - a space where two psyches meet, and where something deeply human may unfold.

Brittain Garrett is a Jungian Analyst in private practice in Fremantle and Margaret River. She is the current president of the CG Jung Society of WA.

Debbie Paulik Ford is a Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist in private practice. Past vice president & current committee member of the CG Jung Society of WA. She is the author of The Dream, The Dreamer and the Therapist: A guide to understanding Dreams (2024)
